  1. Miss ya brother. It is so true that our journey upon this earth is so unpredictable at best, as it is our Lord’s decision in when he calls us home…not ours.

You were a blessing to those that had the honor to know you. You were a great big brother that would take time out of your day to offer brotherly guidance when life seemed tough. Thanks for being there for me brother and May our Lord hold you in His loving arms and provide you with the guidance of Heavens Light. May your spirit soar with the Angels. Good night Richard, my brother, and Rest In Peace. We shall miss you evermore.

  5. I knew Richard as the older brother of my friend and classmate, Cheryl.
I was a shy kid who generally felt out of place but the Polmanteers always made me feel welcome and accepted.
My image of what “family” should be comes from those times and I’m grateful that I was allowed to share in them.

With abiding love and gratitude I am deeply sorry for the loss of this wonderful man.

  8. This is a huge loss. I worked with Richard in Malaysia and Indiana. Richard was an excellent human being. He was honest, caring and understood that no one is perfect. He didn’t judge people. One of my best memories of Richard is how much he talked about cooking and his friends. He never seemed to forget the best moments he had while engaged with both.

May he rest in peace and he will be missed.

  9. I met Richard in south western Indiana in 2010 at a job site that he was helping to build. I was sent up to the site to represent the home office, and I was ill prepared for what I was walking in to. Richard was one of the first people I met, and while nearly all the folks up there were very friendly, Rich was genuine. he helped me get into my role and became a good friend and colleague.

Richard was so very proud of his kids, he would brag about them all the time. he loved to cook, and had many gatherings at his place for his legendary bbq. he was always there to help out a friend in need, and did give good advice and was fun to be around. he loved his business, he loved the people he worked with and he loved a good cigar.

after he moved on to other jobsites and when I knew some of my office people were going there as well, I would contact him to make sure they felt at home once they arrived. he made sure of it. I have to say he was one of a kind, they broke the mold when they made Richard.

my heart goes out to his family, I know they will miss him sorely. Richard, you left us too soon, but the lord must need you for something more important. I’m sure you can teach them all a thing or two about cooking for a crowd! may you rest in peace and you will not be forgotten by those who knew you.

  11. I miss you little Brother. You left too quickly for us to enjoy our retirement together. You have passed on to your greater reward, but those of us fortunate enough to have shared our lives with you will always remember the laughs, the trials and tribulations and your remarkable spirit and ability to rise about the difficulties and have good times. Thank you for that wonderful example for our lives.
Oh, and when you run into my Dad, tell him he does not need to build any more garages. Cheers – JBF
