Patricia Elaine McDonald
Patricia Elaine McDonald, 81, of Texas City, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. She was born on March 12, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Connie Clinton Sharp Jr. and Agnes Sharp.
Patricia grew up in La Marque before becoming a lifelong resident of Texas City. She dedicated many years of service to Amoco Federal Credit Union, where she retired as President. She was respected for her leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to serving her community.
More than anything, Patricia cherished her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, caring for those she loved, and creating lasting memories together. She rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her grandchildren, proudly attending their dance recitals, cheer competitions, football and baseball games, school plays, and every milestone in between, making sure they always knew they were loved. She especially enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson. She also treasured family trips to the Frio River, shopping in Fredericksburg, Thanksgiving celebrations in Llano, and Christmas Eve gatherings with her extended family—traditions that brought her great joy and will forever be cherished by those she loved.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Walter S. “Mac” McDonald, her parents Connie and Agnes Sharp, her mother-in-law, Willie May McDonald and her brother, Connie Clinton Sharp, Jr. III.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Lauw and husband, Michael; her son, Walter Reagan McDonald and wife, Kim; her sisters, Sharon Schaper and Anita Krenek; and her five grandchildren, Brooke Lauw, Tyler Lauw, Zach McDonald, Jacob McDonald(Cindy), and Nicholas “Peewee” McDonald(Macie).
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.
To my Nanabear,
There are some people who come into your life and change it forever. You were that person for me.
You weren’t my grandmother by blood, but you never treated me as anything less than your own. You took me in, loved me, encouraged me, and gave me a home in your heart. That kind of love is rare, and I will spend the rest of my life being grateful that I had the privilege of calling you my Nanabear.
Thank you for believing in me, for caring for me, and for showing me what unconditional love looks like. The lessons you taught me and the kindness you showed will stay with me forever. Because of you, I know that family isn’t only about blood—it’s about the people who choose to love you.
My heart is broken knowing you’re no longer here, but I find peace knowing your love will never leave me. Every time I think of you, I’ll remember your warmth, your strength, and the way you made me feel like I belonged.
Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for being my Nanabear.
I love you, and I will miss you more than words can ever express. Until we meet again, rest peacefully. You will forever have a place in my heart.

Myself and so many others have been truly blessed to have Mrs. McDonald in our lives. She gave me the opportunity to build my career at AMOCO and paved the way for countless leaders throughout our organization. Her unwavering commitment to AMOCO’s mission positively impacted the lives of so many members and strengthened our community in immeasurable ways.
We are forever grateful for her dedication, leadership, and service to AMOCO. Our thoughts and prayers are with the McDonald family during this difficult time, and we hope they find comfort in knowing that her legacy will always be a part of AMOCO.
