Noralee Askew

Noralee Askew, 90, a resident of Webster, Texas went peacefully, with family by her side, to be with Our Lord on April 18, 2024. Noralee was born on February 6, 1934, in Mineola, New York to parents, Edward Rexrode and Jane Andrews.

Noralee was a loving mother with a zest for life. She delighted in being with family, friends and meeting new people. Her outgoing nature and endearing charm meant she never met a stranger, and time spent in fellowship at church with friends new and old brought her much joy and many cherished memories. Not surprisingly, she loved to travel, which included many cruise-ship voyages to the Caribbean, Alaska, and Europe—as well as extensive RV adventures with her husband Wally that took them across the entire lower 48 (with their beloved orange tabby Mr. T riding point on the dashboard).

Noralee enjoyed gardening and she always put her green thumb to work on a variety of indoor and outdoor plants, with a penchant for cultivating heirloom roses. She loved celebrating the holidays and was right at home whipping up large family dinners, always insisting that you have seconds. Lastly, her more whimsical side would insist that any remembrance would not be complete without adding her signature line, “That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.” And that she did!

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Hutchison Askew and brothers, William (Billy) Rexrode, Silas Rexrode, Richard Rexrode and Robert Miller.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son Randy Peters and wife Angela, daughter Brenda Andrews, sons Keith Peters and wife Lorrie, and Scott Peters and wife Kelly; stepdaughter Shannon Williams; grandchildren, Tonya Bingham, Lauren Regier, Lisa Peters, Leslie Peters, Lindsey Peters, Will Peters and Lily Peters; and great grandchildren Grant Bingham and Andrew Bingham.

Noralee’s final resting place will be alongside her adoring husband Wallace Hutchison Askew at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, with memorial service on June 28 at 2:00 PM.
