Nancy Elaine Poore

Nancy Elaine Poore, resident of Bacliff, Texas passed from this life Thursday, July 29, 2021. She was born to proud parents, David Teter and Rosemary Hooker Teter on September 12, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas.

Nancy attended Texas A&M where she was in the Texas Exchange Management program in 1989 and the Texas Executive Development program in 1992. She also attended the University of Arkansas where she was in the Retail Management program in 1990.

She worked in the Army/Air Force Exchange Service for 26 years. She served as an HR assistant, Retail Manager and retired as the General Manager. She received AAFES Honors as Store Manger in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm from 1990 to 1991 in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Nancy was a master gardener and spent many hours working in her garden. She was an avid reader. She also enjoyed needlework and all kinds of other crafts. Nancy loved spending time at the Senior Center in Bacliff and hanging out with all her friends.

Nancy was a great mom to son, Kevin, and loved him with all her heart. She had a big heart and loved everyone. Those who met Nancy always said they enjoyed talking with her and she felt the same about them. She was intelligent, well-read, and well-spoken.  Nancy was kindhearted and had a great sense of humor. She was truly an outstanding woman.

She is preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Moon and others.

She leaves behind to cherish a lifetime of memories, son, Kevin Mark Poore; brother, David Ray Teter and family in Humble, Texas, Dallas, Texas and Austin, Texas; Carolyn Moon and family in San Antonio, Texas and Willis, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in her name to the charity of your choice.

Hold, hug and kiss someone you love when you have the chance. You never know which day will be the last.

  2. Kevin, I was so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I know she meant the world to you, and vice versa. You two had such a special relationship, with a lifetime of love and respect and trust. She will always be there for you, in the person you are and all around you. I know you have already seen that she is near your heart, checking in on you until forever.
