Moises Correa Alcocer

Moises Correa Alcocer, loving son, husband, father, grandfather, godfather and brother passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022.  Moises was born in 1938 in La Paz, Mexico and grew up surrounded by a large, wonderful family. He married Maria Elena Avila on April 30, 1965.  As newlyweds, they were happy and excited to start a new chapter in their life together in Chicago, Illinois. He worked for Fusion Fabricating for 15 years. He was a welder by trade in both Chicago and Houston.  He was a resident of Houston, Texas for the last 42 years.  While in Houston, he was a loyal employee of Gulf Precision Industries. Moises attended St. Helen Catholic Church, St. Luke’s Catholic Church, and Grace Community Church.

Moises was lovingly referred to as “Pops” by his wife, children, grandchildren and godchildren.   He dearly loved his family and truly enjoyed grilling and cooking his “Pop’s breakfast”.  He loved keeping busy with projects around the house and was a lifelong fan of the Houston Astros and the Texans.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Servando Ramos Alcocer and Raquel Correa Alcocer.

He leaves behind his wife of 56 years to cherish in his memories, Maria Elena Alcocer, daughters: Maria Rutherford, husband Jeff, and Raquel Alcocer; son Servando Alcocer, wife Yeltiza; sisters: Elva Morales, Ofelia Ovalle, husband Santos, Martha Cisneros, husband Jesus, and Raquel Flores, husband Oscar; brothers: Servando Alcocer, wife Patricia, Salvador Alcocer, wife Lidia; brother-in-law Jose Avila-Rangel; sister-in-law Francisca Avila Vasquez, husband Mario, son in law, Gregory Box and many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends. His grandchildren: Tyler Rutherford, Trenton Rutherford, Trey Rutherford, Claudia Box, and Christian Alcocer.  Pops will be greatly missed and was always an excellent example to all who knew him.  His home was his castle and was full of peace, harmony and a refuge for his family.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, March 31, 2022, in the chapel at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass will be on Friday, April 1, 2022 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland.
