Margie Marie Gannon
Margie Marie Gannon, of Houston, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 in Texas City, Texas at the age of 67. She was born on August 13, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio to Henry and Helen Mendez.
Margie was a devout Christian and raised in the Catholic Faith. She enjoyed a career selling furniture for Arhaus. She loved the beach, her family and spending time at home watching her favorite TV shows. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Helen, brothers Charlie, David and Daniel Mendez and niece Samantha.
She is survived by her son Jackson, sisters Helen Mendez-Hamar and Gloria Argelot, brother Kiki Mendez, nieces and nephews Heather, Samantha, William, Jose, Felipe and many loving family and friends.
The Family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 2:00pm with a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 3 o’clock at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main, League City, Texas 77573

Margie was like a second mother to me. She welcomed me into her home, her heart, and her family with a kindness I will never forget. She had a gift for making people feel at home and her generosity touched so many lives. One of the things I’ll never forget was her infectious laugh. On so many early high school mornings, that laugh would be what woke me and Jackson up, getting us moving for the day. It filled the room with warmth and joy, and even now, I can still hear it. While my heart is broken by her loss, I find comfort in knowing how much she was loved and how many lives she made better simply by being herself.
Hey Andrea! This is Margie’s nephew Will. (Willy) Just wanted to let you know we were talking about you our last Christmas together and you were absolutely adore by her. And me! Always wondered how life fared for you.

She was my first friend in life and the best big sister. She was my Mom as well because she always took care of me, I will never be the same nor will I ever forget her. We could laugh at anything and some fond memories were when people would say “you don’t look like sisters” then we would laugh and they would say oh yes you are sisters! We were polar opposites but sisters through and through. She fought so hard for so long and her courage and wit was always there…I will miss you the rest of my days and I pray we will meet again.
I will miss my big siter forever and a day, she was my first friend in life and truly my Mom as well for she always took care of me from day one. We could laugh at anything and a fond memory was when people would say” you don’t look like sisters” ,I towered over her, and we would just crack up and when said people heard us laughing they would say, oh yeah you are sisters!
She fought so long and so hard and still kept her wit. I am glad her suffering is over but I will never understand why she had to suffer at all she didn’t deserve it. My youngest Samantha Margaret passed away 5 years ago and he r middle name was after Margie. I hope and pray they are together again and I will miss my big sis forever and a day…
I haven’t spoke to her in a few years but on and off we would chat on Facebook. I am so sorry for her passing sending strength and prayers to her friends and family
I remember growing up and being so excited whenever Aunt Margie would come visit. There was just something about her presence that made everything feel brighter. She was so vibrant and full of life, and you could feel her energy the moment she walked in.
When she was with her sisters, the whole room seemed to come alive. It was louder, warmer, and filled with laughter and the kind of love only family can bring. Those are the memories that will stay with me.
I’ll always be grateful for those memories and for the love and light Aunt Margie brought into our family. She will be deeply missed and remembered with so much love.
I will miss seeing her smiling face and lovely spirit!

I will miss Margie’s beautiful smile and the infectious belly laughs we shared every time we spoke. Had the pleasure of knowing and hanging with Margie back in the heyday when we went dancing every week. Glad I was able spend quality time with her when she was in Cleveland three years ago. We spoke whenever we could which I will cherish. I have saved voicemail she left me. Her and I spoke about the beach so I will let her know when I make it to Florida permanently. My heart aches for her family and all that had the pleasure of knowing her. She is at peace ❤️

No one was a stranger to Margie. From the moment I met her, she welcomed me with open arms into her home and treated me like family. Her generosity was unmatched- even when she was in the hospital she would treat all of the nurses on her care team to pizza, making sure they felt appreciated, and she always put others’ needs ahead of her own, making sure Jackson and I had everything we needed. Margie is by far the strongest person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and I am so glad to call her family. I’ll miss you Mama Margie ♡
I keep thinking back to when we first met at the Garfield Pub back in the late 80’s….like it was yesterday! Who would have thought that one night would turn into such a long lasting, meaningful friendship. You brought me so much laughter and warmth into my life, and I’ll always hold onto those memories, especially the ones that started it all. May you rest in peace Margie. All my love.
Margie was a warm caring co worker and friend. We spent many hours at Star working and laughing together. I was happy to hear she had started a new endeavor, when I spoke to her last.
