Lorenzo Rodriguez, Jr.
Lorenzo Rodriguez, Jr., 72, a resident of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born on October 7, 1953, in Galveston, Texas, to Angelina and Lorenzo Rodriguez Sr.
Lorenzo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence filled every room. He was the Dallas Cowboys’ biggest fan, rarely missing a game, he also cheered on the Astros as well. He loved cooking—especially barbecue—and found his greatest joy in the simple moments: taking his grandsons out to lunch, treating his granddaughter to ice cream, fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with friends and family.
A hard worker his entire life, Lorenzo spent over 30 years with Davis Lynch before enjoying his retirement years selling real estate. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a devout Catholic who faithfully attended St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland.
No one was ever a stranger to Lorenzo. He had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome and important, and he would do anything for anyone. Growing up, he ran the League City streets with his buddies, building lifelong friendships and stories that stayed with him throughout the years.
Lorenzo is preceded in death by his parents, Angelina and Lorenzo Rodriguez Sr, and his brother, David Rodriguez.
He is survived by his darling wife of 52 years, Helen Rodriguez; daughters Veronica Nuttall (Charles) and Cynthia Gomez (Jordan); son Robby Rodriguez; brother Tom Rodriguez (Vicky); sisters Peggy Cantu (Manuel), Brenda Truan, Linda Rodriguez, and Nancy Founds; and his seven beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, Adam, Jayden, Jonah, Gavin, and Makayla, who were the light of his life.
A memorial service will be held in Lorenzo’s honor on February 6, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway St., Pearland, Texas 77581.

Dear Cindy and Family,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Mr. Rodriguez was not only your father—he was a father figure to me as well. I grew up with your family, and he took me in as if I were one of his own children. Because of him, I didn’t just gain a second home—I gained more brothers and sisters for life.
Some of my happiest childhood memories were spent with your family: hunting trips, vacations, celebrations, and everyday moments that shaped who I am today. Mr. Rodriguez always knew that Cindy and I were inseparable—two of a kind, growing up together and doing what young girls do, side by side through it all.
There hasn’t been a day that I haven’t looked back on those times—both the wonderful ones and even the not-so-memorable ones (lol)—and thought how incredibly lucky I was to have such an amazing childhood. I truly don’t know where I would be today if I hadn’t been welcomed into your family’s lives. I am beyond blessed to have had Mr. Rodriguez in my life.
I can only imagine that when he meet’s up with my dad and mom in heaven, they rejoiced together—looking back on those days with big smiles, knowing that their girls grew up happy, healthy, and with the passion to always succeed in life.
Rest in peace, Mr. Rodriguez. You will never be forgotten and will be missed terribly.
With all my love and deepest sympathy,
Hellen I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your precious husband. I do know
how terribly painful it is to loose your sole mate. I pray for our Father God to wrap his arms around you and your family to give you comfort and peace. Hellen it is not a loss we get over but it is one we can eventually learn to live with. I am so sorry I could not be there but I hope you know how much I love you sweet friend.
Sincerely,
Sharon Konzem
Lori were the best brother in law I could have. Whenever you and my sister would come down those were the most precious and unforgettable times for me. I will never forget the fire on one of the burner on my stove. Again you were there to help. Everytime I go to the stove I always have you on my mind when that incident happen. Don’t worry brother in law my sister will miss her “DARLING” very much but she will be taken care of. Wish she was down here in the valley with me. We love you and will miss you very much much. Until we meet again.
Love you, your sister in law – Estela Oviedo from HarlingenTx
