June Alice Johnson

June Johnson, 62, passed away December 11, 2018 after a short illness,  with her family by her side at Methodist Hospital Clear Lake in Houston, TX.

A memorial service has been scheduled for Monday December 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Clear Lake United Methodist Church in Houston, TX.

She was born December 18, 1955 in Orange, Texas to Sidney and Lydia Johnson. She was a graduate of Little Cypress High School and Lamar University with a Masters in Psychology.  She recently retired from Lamar University after having taught Psychology for the majority of her career.  Our beloved “June Bug”  was full of life and love for others and if you were loved by June you knew it.  She was the first one to be at your side when you needed her and the last one to leave.  June loved spending time with her family and friends, especially at the beach or around a pot of spicy gumbo.  Searching for sea shells on the shore was one of her most favorite past times, along with reading and “running the roads” to visit friends far and wide.   June was loved greatly by all who knew her and will truly be missed by all whom she touched.   June was a lover of all animals,  and had more pets than can be counted.  Ginger kitty will miss her dearly.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Lydia Johnson.  She leaves behind two sisters; Sandra Johnson Head and Sherry Johnson Molina; three nieces, Lisa Lormand, Lesleigh Fuller and Melanie Karr;  One nephew, Randall Bridges;  two great nephews; Reagan Smith and Chandler Fuller; eight great nieces, Sidney Karr Franks, Emily Karr, Kaylee Karr Sheffield, Lydia Lormand, Laurel Lormand, Eliana Bridges, Livi Bridges and Kayla Fuller.

In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust June Johnson.
In this life you embraced her with your tender love;
deliver her now from every evil and bid her eternal life with those who have passed before.

The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise,
where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain,
but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit
forever and ever.

  3. She was my first childhood friend. Even though our lives took us in different directions, my affection for her never diminished. She always had a spring in her step, a smile on her face. I have so many cherished memories of growing up with her. My heartfelt condolences to her family and all who knew and loved her. Heaven is rejoicing today!
