Jonathan Scott Miller

Jonathan Scott Miller, presently of Dickinson, Texas passed away at home on August 6, 2022 after a 3 year long brave and determined battle with cancer.

Jon was born in August 1980 to Benjamin and Nancy Miller in Upstate New York. They, along with Jon’s older sister Jennifer, eventually moved to Salisbury, Maryland. There Jon attended school and graduated from Parkside High School. He learned Tae Kwon Do at Parks Martial Arts under Master Parks, where he became a 7th degree black belt and taught students until a knee injury hindered his love of the sport. He went on to college, completed his education and became a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in Emergency and Trauma Therapies as well as receiving accreditation in Neonatal Care RRT. Jon loved helping people and was an excellent RRT.

Jon found his way to Charleston, South Carolina where he met his wife, Erin. They enjoyed many of the same activities and had so much fun introducing their son, Malachai, to those activities. As a family, they were often at the beach, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, fishing, camping, biking, hiking, anything outdoors! As a family they worked on their yard and flower beds and enjoyed learning about new plants in their new home in Texas.

Jon was an amazing husband and father. His love for his wife and son and our pets will be felt forever. He took such good care of his family even when he was sick.

Jon is a lifelong sports fan. His teams are the New York Mets, the New York Giants, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Maryland Terrapins for college basketball.

In his honor, a visitation will be held on Wednesday August 10, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel in Dickinson, Texas. A rosary will follow at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday August 11, 2022 at 10:30am at Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church in Dickinson.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the cancer research fund or animal rescue of your choice as that would make Jon much happier than flowers. Thank you.

  1. Erin now John is resting in peace in the arms of our Lord and savior. The same arms that hold you and your son and your families to help you and comfort you. I prayed every night for John and you and Malachai as I will continue to do so now. My deepest sympathy and all my love.
