John Christopher Lawrence, 64, of Hitchcock, Texas, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, after his battle with cancer. John was born in Birmingham, Alabama on June 27, 1960, to Lester and Jane Lawrence.

John proudly served in the United States Army for 12 years during the Gulf War. John united in marriage to his beautiful wife Amy Acos0 on May 9, 2006. John and Amy shared 18 wonderful years together. John spent his days working as a long-haul trucker until he retired in 2024.

John is preceded in death by his father and mother.   He is survived by his wife Amy Lawrence; daughter Dawn Henry and her husband Mark, his brother Thomas Lewis and his wife Betty; sisters: Margaret (Bonnie) Thacker and her husband Charles, and Esther Looney; and his two grandchildren: Abigail Lawrence and Truit Henry.

Dawn and Amy would like to express their sincere love and gratitude to Robbi and Zel Bice for the unwavering love and support during this difficult time. Robbi and Zel are dear family friends and John loved you both and thought of you as his adopted children.

A visitation will be on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 2:00pm-3:00pm with the funeral service at 3pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, with Pastor Bill Cole officiating.
