Jimmy Lee (Jimbo) Bradshaw

Jimmy Lee (Jimbo) Bradshaw, 78 of Texas City passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Webster, TX. He was born June 11, 1945, in Galveston, TX to James and Mary Ida Bradshaw.

Jimbo was raised in Galveston and graduated from Ball High School. As a young adult, he moved to Texas City but eventually chose to call Santa Fe home. He was a member of the Painter’s Union – Local 585. He went on to establish his own company, B&B Paint Contractors that was very successful for many years. Later in life, Jimbo started a new venture of raising prized roosters and John Kelso’s Oleander Game Farm was formed.

People from all around the world sought out Jimbo’s “Kelso bloodline” roosters. It was not uncommon to see him walking into the local post office to ship these prized birds all over the world. Jimbo retired from this venture in 2017 after Hurricane Harvey decimated his flock. Jimbo loved fishing and even had his commercial fishing license and would sell fish to local Galveston restaurants like Gaido’s and many others. He had a passion for doing many things, especially outdoors.

Jimbo is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Charles Darcy Bradshaw and Richard Reazin and his sister Mary Ann Kovacevich Sealy. He is survived by his sisters Wilma Kay Denney (husband-Roy) and Jackie Lynn Simons, his two daughters that he loved more than he could ever say Dana Bradshaw and Lori Duke (husband – Mike). Jimbo and Mike had a special relationship that they both treasured. He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren Shaunce Johnson (husband-Jay) and Travis Duke, both of which he absolutely adored and his 2 great grandchildren Alyssa Llanos and Devin Scholtter along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 6pm-8pm.
