Janet Marie Guice, 67 of La Marque passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in La Marque.  She was born on May 31, 1956 to James and Marjorie Shelton.

Janet was a lifelong resident of La Marque; she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church then Faith Lutheran Church. Janet retired as a Teacher from La Marque ISD. She loved working with students all her life and loved her kids and grandkids. To say the kids and especially the grandkids were extremely spoiled by her is an understatement. She made sure to attend as many events for her kids and grandkids as possible.

She is preceded in death by her parents.  Janet is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry Guice, two daughters and sons-in-law; Tiffany Andrews (Damon) and Stephanie Klyng (Donnie), sisters; Debra Richardson (Ronnie) and Nina Rios (Tim), brothers; Jack Shelton (Susan) and Dennis Shelton (Debbie) and her nine grandchildren; Kaylee Klyng, Kena Andrews, Krysta Klyng, Maren Andrews, Declan Andrews, Cullan Andrews, Kacey Klyng, Corrigan Andrews and Krystan Klyng.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.  Funeral Service will be on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 2 pm with Pastor David Buco officiating.  Burial will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
