James Michael Coffee

James Michael Coffee, “Mike,” resident of Clear Lake, TX, lost his battle to cancer on March 7, 2023 at the age of 64. He was born November 30, 1958 in Odessa, Texas. He served 2 years in the United States Navy before beginning his career as a machinist. In his free time, he enjoyed coin-collecting, hunting, fishing, and was an exceptionally talented craftsman. He loved being in his garage building furniture for his loved ones, classic television, and spending time with his wife and children. He was a dedicated Christian whose faith grew immensely over his life and walk with God.  He was cherished deeply as a son, brother, husband, father and friend.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Harris. Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 42 years, Holly Jo Coffee; son James Michael II, daughters Heather with boyfriend Ryan, Elizabeth with husband Sam, Jennifer with husband Kevin; mother Linda; sisters Andrea and husband Tony, Melissa and husband Dan, Katie and husband Mike; brother Jimmy with wife Lana; and numerous other loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family members and close friends are joined in prayer surrounding Mike’s departure to heaven. While our hearts ache with his absence, we are grateful that he is finally relieved from all pain and suffering and rejoicing in the arms of his Lord and Savior. We are deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received in this difficult time.

In accordance with Mike’s wishes, a memorial service will be omitted and the family instead invites loved ones to share memories below. In lieu of flowers, family requests any monetary donations in his memory to be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or to the memorial fund for his family ( https://everloved.com/life-of/james-coffee/ ). His ashes will be laid to rest at the Forest Park East Cemetery.
