James Burton

James Burton was 85 years old when he fell asleep in death on December 9, 2020 in Webster Texas at 7:00 am. He was born on July 27, 1935 in Salem, New Jersey to Robert and Ruby Burton. James is survived by his: wife, Joyce; daughter, Shanta (Husband Stanphanie) Limuel; sons, Shane (Wife Jacqueline) Allen, Marlon Allen, Andre (Wife Kerri) Allen, and Antoine Copes; Granddaughters, Keisha, Niah, Shamadra (Husband Alex), Cara (Husband Chikara), Stephanie, and Lauren; Grandsons, Andre and Aaron (Wife Brittany); Great grandsons, Marquise, Tryndon, Kaedon, Zhaidon, Joey, Isaiah, and Dalton; Great granddaughters Jayla, Yasmine, and Bella.  Aunt Dorothy Moore and a host of other relatives.

James was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the year 1982 in Escondido, California. His love for his God Jehovah was evident by the way he lived his life and cared for his family. He held on to his integrity and faith to the very end of his life. He loved sports and especially had a passion for music. He loved listening to Kingdom melodies, our original songs, and smooth jazz. He had a great love for his wife Joyce and his children. James and Joyce shared 55 wonderful years together and they served Jehovah faithfully together for 38 of those years. He loved preaching the good news of Gods Kingdom. He also had a great love for his dear spiritual brothers and sisters.

James was a truly kind and warm-hearted person. He was affectionately known as “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren because of the unconditional love he showed them. James will truly be missed. May we all cherish the precious moments that we shared with him, as we look forward to seeing him again in paradise.

  11. It was a pleasure to meet and care for him – we enjoyed good stories and laughs together. His precious wife and daughter are some of the sweetest and God loving people I have ever known in my career and it was not always an easy road. Mr. Burton and I shared a precious relationship that I am so thankful for and will remember the rest of my life. My deepest sympathies to the Burton family.

  12. I miss my cousin so much. My earliest memories are of watching Jimmy putting wood in the old stove to get hot water so that he and his sister, Alice, could get ready for elementary school.
I truly loved my brother. May he Rest In Peace.
