On Friday, September 18, 2026, Irma Ana Anzaldua Cantu left this earthly realm and stepped into eternity, leaving behind a legacy defined by kindness, love, laughter and, above all, FAMILIA.

Irma Ana believed familia was more than blood—it was a promise. It was showing up, gathering, sharing stories, celebrating milestones, making room for one more and loving fiercely. She carried her Mexican heritage with immense pride and joy, embracing the traditions and values that shaped her and intentionally passing them on to the generations that followed.

She was the keeper of those traditions and the heart of many family gatherings. Her legacy lives not in things, but in people—in every child, grandchild, great-grandchild, sibling, niece, nephew and loved one who carries a piece of her forward.

We are her legacy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ismael and Elida Anzaldua. Grandparents: Santiago and Petra Martinez, Alejandro and Ursula Anzaldua; her brother, Salvador Martinez; and her brother- in-love, Steve DeFoore.

She leaves behind her beloved amor, David Cantu; her children, Manuel Silva III, Misha Carmona (Richard), Damian Cantu (Michelle), and Stephanie Lockwood (Drew); grandchildren Gregory Torres, Michael Alaniz, Mandi (Ryan) Stubbs, Jordan (AJ) Flores, Marc Silva, Cisco Silva, Tony Runyon, Josh Cridland, Courtney LaBry, Camila, DJ and Gabriel Cantu, and Helen and Richie Lockwood; and great-grandchildren Makhai, Reese, Kori, Reign, Eliana, Mila, Abram and Sienna.

She is also survived by her siblings, Ida (Roy) Garza, Belinda (Frank) Whitehurst, Iris Ayala, Irina DeFoore, Josie Mejia and Mike (Michelle) Anzaldua, along with far too many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to count.

FAMILIA was her greatest love.
And now, FAMILIA is her legacy.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life honoring Irma Ana will be held Sunday, September 27, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at: WaterGrove Event Venue, 3920 Gulf Freeway, Dickinson, Texas
