Hattie Viola Keener

Hattie Viola Keener, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 1, 2017, at her residence, in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. She was born May 24, 1923, in Hermleigh, Texas, to Henry and Ina Peppers. Hattie was a resident of Texas City, for over 57 years. She loved quilting, cooking, and baking. Hattie is remembered by family for her generous and loving nature for her children and grand-children.
Hattie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Albert Keener; a daughter, Ruby Bolen; a granddaughter, Deborah Fielder and a brother, Edward Peppers.
Hattie is survived by three daughters: Iris Long and husband Edward, Belinda Simmons, and Pamela Woolf; three sons: Jimmy W. Keener and wife Sheri, Albert Keener and wife Sherrie, and Kevin Keener and wife Marie; fifteen grandchildren: Stacey Keener, Angela Yokie, Gina Richter, Robert Thompson, Jr., Amy Robles, Clay Bolen, Jr., William Limas, Steven Limas, Eric Keener, Heather Boettner, Michael Simmons, Sarah Weaver, Kevin Keener, Jr., Matthew Keener, and Jordan Keener, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law: Clay Bolen, Sr.; two sisters: Wanda Tollett and Georgie Young.
Pallbearers will be; Robert Thompson, Jr., Stacey Keener, William Limas, Steven Limas, Eric Keener, and Clay Bolen Jr. Honorary pallbearers are; Kevin Keener Jr., Matthew Keener and Michael Simmons.
A visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, April 6, 2017, at James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Service will be at 2:00pm Friday April 7, 2017, at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Johns officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, in Webster, Texas.
