Flo Vesta Swaim Briggs
Flo Vesta Swaim Briggs, 89, a Houston, TX resident on and off for over 64 years, passed away April 23, 2021 in Sugar Land, TX at the home of her son, Mike. At her request, no service will be held.
Flo was born in Bristow, OK on March 23, 1932. She married her husband, Charles Wendell Briggs in 1949 and together they raised four children. Flo and Wendell were married for 37 years until his passing in 1986. Flo was particularly fond of travel and traveled extensively in a motorhome with her sister Gae and Gae’s husband, John. She was also passionate about genealogy and would often couple trips around the country with her genealogical interests.
Flo reunites with her husband Wendell; parents, Dorotha and Vessie Swaim; and brother, Timothy Swaim. She is survived by her sister, Gae Gowan. She leaves behind her daughters: Patricia Hill, husband Roy, and Kathy Luttrell, husband Steve; sons: Mike Briggs, wife Carol, and John Briggs, wife Katrina. In addition, she is survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

I miss you my precious sister. We had the last 7yrs to say our good byes. I know you are at peace now with your loved ones.Now you know the color of Gods eyes as you have met him.I loved having you as my sister all these yrs
Love you mom. Glad you are with dad and God now. Hope you have a beautiful cat to keep you company while dad is working for God every day. We will miss you , but you are in the best place to enjoy your eternity. Tell God and Jesus thanks for our eternal lives and the Glory we will enjoy in Heaven someday soon. Abey, Bear, and Samantha do miss you already. Don’t worry we will show them all our picture of dad and you in the years to come. Your son Mike ,and daughter in law Carol.

Flo Briggs was one of a kind… an ORIGINAL!!! Best Mother-In-Law in the whole world. She welcomed me and Brenham into the Briggs Family with open arms! She always loved and supported me like a 2nd Mother! She also embraced my entire family and all my friends which was mind blowing!! She’s loved all 3 of our sons, Brenham, Luke + Wendell equally! She loved and was supper proud of and very interested in all her Great Grands in our family…Bella, Samantha, Fred, Abigail + newest Barrett! Something very special about Flo was that she did her very best in in her Sr. years + her limited state to stay connected with our family + friends. She always wanted a rundown of all our loved ones. We are thankful for the beautiful legacy of Godliness, love in action, selflessness, kindness, responsibility, patience strength, and love of nature Flo left us! Positive she is enjoying meeting face to face her Maker!!I Know she’s basking in His Love and the beauty and sights of nature in her new Heavenly Home with her Huge Family!! Love you Flo and see you in Heaven!!
Beloved ones left behind, may Gods richest blessings overtake and flood your lives with His abundance. I have the highest respect for Flo, always have. We just got along great, guess that’s the mystery of womanhood.I reverence her for being her. Such a special kind godly soul. To the grieving family n friends of the late ” Flo ” .My sister carol’s beloved mother/law.Flo n I were friends. Her humble quite soft spoken spirit was I believe given her by her savior. I had such admiration n respect for her. Of course I didnt live around her , so Flo I knew was easy going n easy talking to. In her private life she may have been a dragon, dont know nor care .But jesus was heard lord n she trusted him.She changed address n now resides in Gods presence No accident ! To inherent heaven as your eternal home you must call out to jesus for salvation from eternal damnation. He will receive you unto himself. ” Whosoever will call out to him he says he will in no wise cast out ! Flos name was written in down in ” the lambs book of life “! Is yours beloved ? Jesus says” I am the truth the life n the way, no one comes to the Father buy by me. If you reject jesus your will spend eternity in hell, separated forever from everything everyone you love and cherish. Invite jesus into your heart now before it’s to look late.
How do I ask jesus into my heart ! Say , lord I confess with my tongue I am a sinner. I believe in my heart you died on the cross for my sin, you were buried for three days on day 3 you were respected to life again.I believe these truths come into my heart and save me from destruction. Wash me cleanse me and I will be whole. Thk you jesus for saving me. I am sorry for my sin and will repent.Amen ! Do this and jesus will adopt you into his family forever, amen.
