We are so sorry for your loss. Stokey was a great man and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Praying for peace and strength for the family during this difficult time.
Sorry to hear of Stokey’s passing, he is in a better place now! He lived quite a life, worked hard and played hard. He and Shirley were always so welcoming whenever we came to visit. I don’t think there very many bones that were not broken at least once but he didn’t let that stop him. He was very good with his family and was always there for them in time of need. He was indeed a good friend and I will miss not seeing him. I’m sure his family will be there to look after Shirley.
Phyllis and I send our love to all of the family with love.

How much love I received from our grandpa Ellis “Pappy,” how many funny stories I had the joy of hearing, and how special it was to have known the Hamberg family.

This one is hard!! such sad news. Stokey was a kind, smart, generous loving man. He lived a great life. He loved hid family with all of his heart and soul. We are all lucky to have known him , and be able to share memories and great story’s he shared with us. Never was there a dull moment with this man. He is a true Legend . Thank you Stokey for all of the memories, good times, story’s, wisdom and most of all for loving us. I know you will be watching from above. We will love you always and you will forever live in our minds and hearts. Rest easy we love you!!
Ah, Uncle Stokey. A true legend! I’ve been thinking so deeply of you lately and praying for you and the family. I hope it’s true what they say about our loved ones feeling all the love from everyone they’ve touched in their lives after they pass. Because man, you’ll know how loved you are!
In 1995, I believe it was, at the reunion, you had your corvette. Yellow, if memory serves… I know we’re of the same genes, as we share many ideas on what’s right and what’s wrong, but more fun than that, the love of a fast car! You handed me the keys and I said I’d better not, after a beer or two. Lol, but the keys got pushed over even harder and I have no regrets. I’ve never felt such a thrill on that timidly short trip but more than that… the trust Uncle Stokey gave me is unforgettable in my heart. Oh the stories will forever live on, and all the beautiful memories of the couple who has loved each other deeper than sadly many will ever have the chance to know. I have such respect for both Shirley and Stokey and will always remember the incredibly good looking, charismatic couple they were and how much they loved their family! I cherish the pictures Mama left me.
My prayers are with all that loved him so. God bless Uncle Stokey. Forever you will be missed.
Jeanette’s daughter, Cynthia
