Eleanor Teresa Brown

Eleanor Teresa Brown, 90, of Pearland, passed away peacefully at her home on August 26, 2020 with her family by her side.  Mrs. Brown was born on March 13, 1930 in Buffalo, New York to Earl and Katherine Dettman, where she resided for 43 years.  Eleanor, her husband Charles, and their family moved to Seabrook, Texas in 1974 and then moved to Clear Lake in 1984, where she lived for 27 years. Most recently, she has been a 10-year resident of Pearland.  While in Buffalo, Eleanor was a nurse’s aide at Meyer General Hospital for about 6 years. After moving to Seabrook, she worked in the fabric department at Perry’s department store. She managed apartments in Glendale, Colorado for a couple of years before moving back to Texas. She also worked at the daycare at Alpha Bowl in Webster, TX. Wherever Eleanor went she made life-long friends. Eleanor loved making jigsaw puzzles and crafting clothespin doll ornaments, selling them at craft shows. Later in life, Eleanor became a huge fan of the Astros and enjoyed watching them with her sons. She was a parishioner of St Bernadette Catholic Church and St Helen Catholic Church.

Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her husband Charles B. Brown. They were married for 53 years. Also preceded in death were her brothers Richard, Raymond, and Ronald Dettman.

Eleanor is survived by her sons Kenneth Brown and his wife Sharon, Stephen Brown, and Darren Brown and his wife Denise; grandchildren Shannon Boll and her husband Jamie, Tiffany Brown, Erica Bederka and her husband Joseph, Chase Gilbert, Jennifer Marceau, Alison Duke and her husband Josh, and Tyler Beveridge and his wife Dr. Jennifer Dasse Beveridge. Eleanor has many great-grandchildren whom she adored. They include Ashlyn Moore, Kendall Nicholas, Maddie Boll, Jaxson Boll, Kyleigh Brown, Bryce Bederka, Jaselynn Gilbert, Reed Gilbert, Jalisa Hernandez, Cameron Hernandez, Evelyn Beveridge and Giavanna Ruffins as well as her great-great grandson Elijah Rex.

On Sunday, August 30, 2020, there will be a private visitation for family being at 2:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home 2422 E. Broadway St. Pearland, TX 77581. Friends are welcome to visit beginning at 3:00 p.m. A Roman Catholic celebration with Father Jim Courville officiating begins at 5:00 p.m.

  1. Darren/Denise and family. We are so sorry about her passing away. She was very well loved by all and enjoyed being around everybody just as much as everybody loved being around her. She always had a smile ready for you. I was glad to known her for quite a few years as part of the bowling rats hanging out with her son Darren. She will be missed and just remember the good time during this time of grief. We will keep you in our prayers.
