Owen, E pic 15Elaine Owen, 94, of Texas City, passed away in her home surrounded by family on Friday, May 15, 2015.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 19, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with a rosary following.

Elaine Pollock Owen was born March 15, 1921 in Sweet Home, Texas. She retired from UTMB in Galveston after 32 years of service, where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Texas City and later resided in Friendswood and League City. She was an avid sports fan and received a MVP from Blessed Sacrament Academy’s girls’ basketball team in 1935. The school was the winner of the City Championship of Parochial Teams of San Antonio. She was also an animal lover and her four-legged friends brought her great joy.

Survivors include her daughter, Sally Nagel Wrobleski and husband, Regis, of El Lago; daughter, Susan Michelle Green (husband, James, deceased); son, James Robert Nagel and wife, Colleen, of Texas City; and daughter, Kelly Nagel Owen and partner, Paula Skinkis, of Texas City; grandchildren Sheryl Wrobleski Rozier and husband, Joe, of Galveston, Gregg Wrobleski of Lago Vista, Aaron Byers and wife, Monica, of Kingwood, and Rosemary Jacobs and husband, Danny, of Natchitoches, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Jacob Byers, Brittany Withers, K.C. Pickering and Lari Jacobs; great-great-grandchildren James Byers and Raeleigh Pickering; and brother, Elmo Pollock of Halletsville; and special friend, Tammy Townsend of Dickinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Owen; parents Robert and Alta Mae Pollock; and brothers, Harvey Pollock and Preston Pollock.

Pallbearers will be Brad Bosworth, Aaron Byers, Seeton Pollock, Joe Rozier, Tammy Townsend and Gregg Wrobleski.  Honorary pallbearers: Willie Carroll, Donny Pollock and Rev. R.B. Wedergren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Abdul Abdellatif and Dr. Maaz Abbasi of Clear Lake Specialties and A*Med Hospice staff Christina, Nelly and Kristy for their kindness and compassionate care.

    Your mother had a long life in which you were able to enjoy and love her.
    She has gone to her heavenly home and is now out of pain and filled with joy.

    Your family is blessed to have had her with all of you for so many years of her life.
