  2. Growing up I remember when Monte ran track for Madison High School . I wanted to follow in his footsteps but, I was never able to match up to him and his endurance for the sport . He would tell me the stories of him in the border Olympics and other track meets that made me proud of him. The most endearing thought I can say without a shadow of a doubt about Monte is the Love he had for Peggy and his family. His grandkids I know made a difference in his life and Monte had no problem to tell you . Daisy was always part of our conversations which I think taking her for walks was his therapy and of course exercise. I will miss my big brother and the times we shared but, I know God had bigger plans for Monte to be with our mom , Dad , Gayle and Olivia. Until we meet again .
Love ya your little brother Billy

  6. Monte!! You were a gem! You made an impression on me as a kid that I will never forget! Then we lost contact over the years and we didn’t get together like we talked about. As a result of not doing so, when I found out, I was crushed! Your son Chris is one of my first friends I ever had in life and still is! He and I will be getting together soon and will have a cigar in your memory! Your legacy will live on through so many who you touched! Thank you for always being yourself! One day we will met again! So long for now!

  8. Monte was the third person I met at Whirlwind on that morning in 1992. I am glad I got a chance to talk to him a couple weeks ago. Patriot is right. He would probably get a kick out of the fact that I drove back to Houston from Mississippi on Monday only to find out that everything had been re-scheduled. I had my American Flag shirt on in honor of him. I will watch remote this Friday if it is available since I am back out on the road 1200 miles away. He always loved my road storys. He never got the chance to come see us in Vegas. We talked about it…………….. There is a song in there somewhere. Godspeed Sir. – MWS

  15. Rembrance of my oldest Brother Monte,he was taken to early, but God needed him for His purposes we have alot of memories growing up,from Him taking me in his old Heap to find my missing Dog Muggs, the dog he always called his dog lol,and memories of His Great music of the 60s and of him running track and the fireworks show between him and Wayne McQueen to boy scout trips when Billy was in scouts and the time when we went to camp strake Dad was the cook Monte the over seer over me Billy and Jay and Billy and Jay Hid me under a pile of leaves and told Monte I was lost and Monte ran through the woods frantically yelling and looking for me when I popped out of the leaves, the chase was on after Billy and Jay,but I remember going with Dad to take Monte to Blinn College that was always fun times, and I remember when Dad was Home, which was rare, and Monte and Billy fist fighting that was exciting until Dad would intervene, and mom would try to wake Monte on them cold mornings and he would spout off to mom, until Dad would come in with a broomstick and Monte would get dressed and leave haha, all good memories, but Monte was a Gentle Patriotic man that Had a Great Son and a Wonderful wife Peggy which I admire alot and Great Step kids Jay and Denise and grandchildren Ginny and Randee this was the Greatest time of His life, that he married into a wonderful family which my Sympathies go out to,and the fact that Monte was someone I always looked up to as a leader and a Big Brother that was Confident, and a man of integrity and His politics were 2nd to none, but most of all me and my siblings Loved this man and He will always be in our Hearts, and He will Sorely be Missed, but one of the Best things above all else,is Monte is in His new Mansion with all his Love Ones that gone on before and with our Savior Jesus,so until we reunite and come full circle again Love you Brother.
