Funeral services for Doris Mae Merrill, 78, of Pasadena will be held Thursday, June 9, 202,2 at 10:00am at the Crowder Funeral Home located at 111 East Medical Center BLVD, Webster Texas with Pastor Dan Schepmann officiating. The family welcomes you at 9:00am for visitation.  

A grave-side service will be held at 3:00pm at the Gann Cemetery located at 161 Gann Cemetery Rd., Pollok, Texas 75969.  Rev. Clyde Snider will be officiating the Graveside service.

Doris passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in Pasadena, Texas.  She was born November 25, 1943, in Orange, Texas to Charles Preston and Orba Mae Wilder Snider.  She graduated from Central High School in Pollok, Texas Class of 1963.  She worked for LaPorte ISD and Pasadena ISD for most of her career.  She was passionate about her work in the school cafeteria, where she was a baker.  Her specialty was making someone’s day with the best deserts around.  She made the absolute best cinnamon rolls, carrot cakes and peanut butter cookies.

She was a loving Mother, Wife, Aunt and friend, but being “Grandma” was her most cherished role in life.  She would move mountains to bring happiness to her grandkids and great grandkids.  She was a kind person, always greeted everyone with a smile and conversation.  She knew no strangers.

She came from a large family with 11 other brothers and sisters.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Merrill.  Her father Charles Snider, mother Orba Bates and step-father, Clyde Bates.  Brothers Cecil, Ray, Bill, Jerry and Dock Snider.  Sisters Nellie Snider, Elnoria Liles, Mollie Herrington, Mary Baird and her twin sister, Dorothy Reppond.  Grandson, Kevin Roberts.  Granddaughter Britny Merrill.  Great Granddaughter Rosaleen Roberts.

She is survived by her Sister Patti Harris of Danbury, Texas.  Daughter Julie Costa and husband Bobby of Lufkin, Texas. Daughter, Jennifer Watson and Husband John of Houston, Texas.  Step-son Frank Merrill Jr. and wife Janet of Angleton, Texas.  Step-daughter Laverne Roese and husband Dennis of La Porte, Texas.  Step-son Gary Merrill of Tampa, Florida.  Step-daughter Sherry Merrill of Alvin, Texas.  Grandsons Joseph Scott, Cameron Watson and wife Victorya, Jerry Roberts, Dillon Watson, and wife Allison, Chase Merrill.  Granddaughters Sarah Brandt, Jessica Puffen, Caise and husband Mackenzie Richburg, Samantha and husband Todd Want.  Great Grand Children Johnathan , Maci, Ellis, Everleigh, Bailey, Maysn and Ethan.  Numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and wonderful friends.

Pall Bearers will be: John Watson, Robert Costa, Jerry Roberts, Joseph Scott, Robert Horsley and Dillon Watson

  1. Aunt Doris was kind and compassionate and had a great sense of humor.
    She was only 3 years older than me so we grew up together and were very close. I loved her so much.
