Debra Ann Eubanks

Debra Ann Eubanks passed away on May 9, 2019 in Houston, TX at the age of 66. She was born on October 14, 1952 in Augusta, Georgia to Charles Ray Franklin, Sr. and Ann Herren Franklin. Debra loved spending time with and doting on her four beautiful grand babies. She also enjoyed spending time in the Piney Woods of East Texas at the property her and her husband shared. Ever since the 6th grade Debra knew she wanted to be a school teacher. She taught elementary school for almost thirty years and touched so many young people’s lives. Debra was a faithful member of the League City Church of Christ where she taught Bible class and was involved in countless other areas of service to members of the church and the community. Her lifelong mission was to lead others to Christ. Throughout her battle with pancreatic cancer, her main focus was bringing glory to God no matter the outcome.

Debra is preceded in death by her father, Charles Ray Franklin, Sr., her mother in law, Eunice Eubanks, and her nephew, Lucien Max Larche. Debra is survived by her loving husband, Ken Eubanks of Friendswood, TX, her daughters Natalie Ann Schutz and husband Jeff of League City, TX, Allison Dawn Lankford and husband Josh of Farmers Branch, TX, her mother Ann Franklin of Bastrop, LA, brother Charles Ray Franklin, Jr. of Thomasville, AL, sister Cheryl Tanksley and husband Terry of Bastrop, LA, her four precious grandchildren Conley Schutz, Abigail Lankford, Emberlee Schutz and Jude Lankford, her father in law, Melvin Eubanks of Bastrop, LA, sisters in law Marilyn Cox and husband David of Bastrop, LA and Wanda McCoy and husband Mike of Sterlington, LA and many sweet nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 from 12 pm-2 pm at the League City Church of Christ with the funeral service following at 2 pm at the League City Church of Christ at 1801 E. Main St., League City, TX 77573.

The family would like to express our thanks to Debra’s friends and church family for the many prayers and many acts of kindness shown during her cancer battle and for the wonderful care given by the staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center. If desired, in lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions in Debra’s honor to Fosters Home for Children or go to M D Anderson Research.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.” Psalm 116:15

“Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” Revelation 14:13

  3. What a precious godly woman she was. I enjoyed our friendship for over 50 years. Our strongest bond developed during our high school years when we were both members of the band. We had such a good time. I know the love she had for her family. Her girls were her life and then came her precious grandchildren. Ken was more than just her devoted husband but such a wonderful caregiver. Many times she would tell me how she could not have made it without all his support and love. He was so much more than her nurse mate but almost like her Guardian Angel. She will be missed by so many because of her loving spirit for life. She remained so upbeat and confident during her illness and always trusted that our Lord would take care of her which he did. I’ll miss you my friend … keep me a spot reserved so we can catch up when I join you in eternity.

  6. Debra was a most beautiful example of a Godly woman. As a wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, teacher, servant, friend, sister in Christ, Debra’s light will continue to shine in everyone’s life she touched. She will be so dearly missed, however, her beautiful example of Proverbs 31, encourages us all to joyfully, continue to walk with God.
