Cyril Francis Ryan

Cyril Francis Ryan, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at home after a brief illness in Seabrook, Texas at age 85.

Leaving to mourn, his wife of 65 years, Eva, whom he shared many wonderful moments.  Also, his daughter Cheryl, his son Wayne (Brenda) of Canada and his son Paul of Australia.  Remembering  also his grandchildren: Trudy, John, Julie, Adam and Alexander, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, his sister Agnes, his brothers John (Lucy); Jerome (Charlotte) of Canada and Walter (Kathy) of Indiana.

Pre-deceased by his brothers: Joe, Tony & Paddy, his sisters: Sadie, Helen & Catherine.

Born in O’Donnell’s Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada in 1935. He joined the Royal Canadian Airforce in 1954 and was stationed in Trenton, Ontario where he met his future wife Eva whom he married in 1956. After he left the military he worked for the Govt. of Canada in Ottawa before moving to Texas in 1991.

  2. There’s so much left unsaid Grumpy…not enough space or words. I think it was my father who came up with the term Grumpy, I can’t rightly remember…..but in my mind you were m MY grumpy first. I thought I was prepared for this moment. I wasn’t…..I have no words only tears and a big hole. Even though we were far apart for so long, knowing you were still physically on this earth was enough for me. I’m shocked with the depth of emotion, despair and longing. You and gram were home. My safety, my childhood. A piece is now gone. Never forgotten, always loved and respected. No matter what. It was a DILLY of a ride my grumpy. Xo

  6. I remember sharing a couple of Lone Stars with Cyril by the pool in Seabrook a few times when I visited him in the ‘90’s. We always had a great laugh together as he told a few stories about his retirement in Texas and trips to Lake Charles and Vegas. I’ll always remember those visits with a smile.
