Leodegario “Yoye” Salazar, 71, of Manvel, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2026. He was born on March 1st, 1955 in Mexico to Aurelio Salazar and Virgina Lara. Leodegario was a loving father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a die-hard Houston Astros fan and proudly supported his team through every season. He had a true love for music and dancing, always enjoying a good song and a chance to show off his moves.

Above all, Leodegario cherished his grandkids, who brought him immense joy and happiness. He also had a special love for his green van, who became part of who he was. Leodegario lived life in his own unique way, surrounded by the people, music, and the things he loved. His laughter, personality, and unforgettable memories will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Aurelio Salazar and Virginia Lara. His sister, Candelaria Salazar. His brothers, Ramon Salazar, Augustin Salazar, and Jose Luz Salazar.

Leodegario is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Celia Salazar. His daughters, Lucy Valle and Melissa Nunez (Ricardo). His sons, Fernando Salazar and Estevan Salazar (Lissette). His sisters, Carolina Ledesma, Isabel Salazar, and Maria Galvan. His brothers, Juan Salazar, Jesus Salazar, and Jose Salazar. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, J.T. Valle, Mila Valle, Ricardo Abarca Jr., Juliette Nunez, Violet Nunez, Elyanna Jean Salazar, Vincent Salazar, Kloee Salazar, Levi Salazar, and Diego Salazar.

There will be a visitation on Thursday September 4th, 2026 at Crowder Funeral Home 2422 E. Broadway St., Pearland, Texas from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 P.M. A mass will take place on Friday September 4th, 2026 at St Helen Catholic Church 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, TX at 11:00 A.M. A burial will follow at Paradise South Cemetery in Pearland.

Pallbearers serving will be Fernando Salazar, Esteven Salazar, Ricardo Abarca Jr., Carmen Villanueve, J.T. Valle, Alfredo Galván Jr., Carlos Galván, and Jesus Salazar.
