Charles Joseph Mallini, Sr

mallini,c pic 2 Charles Joseph Mallini, Sr. of Texas City passed away on June 6, 2016 at the age of 95.  Charles was born on September 28, 1920, in Mobile, Alabama, and was a resident of Galveston County for 86 years. He graduated from Ball High School and Sam Houston State University.  He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during World War II.  Charles retired from the Texas Employment Commission after 34 years and also from American District Telegraph (ADT) after 25 years of service.  He was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Hitchcock and lent his help to the friends of 1st Baptist Church of La Marque.  Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Augustine Mallini, his wife, Elaine Mallini, his brother, Harold, his sister, Claire, his daughter, Denise, and his son, Danny.  Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Charles, Jr. (Nancy) and Adrian Devine (Dodie) and daughters, Beverly Spencer, Jenifer Byrd, Monica Harvey, Katie Devine, and Marilyn Devine. He has 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren who dearly love their “Papa.”  Charles believed strongly in his God, his family, and his country.  Please visit James Crowder Funeral Home at 401 Texas Avenue in La Marque, Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm to visit with the family and Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:00am for a service honoring this great man.  Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson with Father John Kappe officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Organization.

  1. Rest in Peace Papa. Men like you are few. We are grateful for the years that we have known you, we will never have neighbors like you and Elaine, you showered us with love and helped us as if we were your own children. We will always cherish your and Elaine’s memory.
