Capt. Michael David Howard

Capt. Michael David Howard, known to all as Capt. Howie, 61, of Texas City Texas passed from this life into a better one on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 in Clear Lake, Texas after complications due to a motorcycle accident. He was born in Galveston, Texas on August 17, 1961 to Billy Gene Howard and Mary Kingsley Reynolds. He was a long time resident of Texas City and spent a great deal of time in Galveston. He was a Christian and would always say “God Bless” at the end of the conversation. He had many friends from all over and would consider you a good friend after a first meeting. He had many friends still since childhood. He was an Astro’s and Texans fan. He loved riding his motorcycle, especially along the Seawall. Many times he could be found at The Poop Deck hanging out. He also enjoyed tending to his plants at his home and video games.  He started as a deckhand when he was a teenager and worked his way up to become a captain of crew boats delivering supplies and staff to the oil rigs. He also helped put out the fire at Deepwater Horizon. He was an avid fisherman, especially for Red Snapper.

He is preceded in death by his father. Michael is survived by his mother, Mary Kingsley Reynolds; two step children, Christy Guerra and Alfredo Guerra; sisters, Phyllis Gail Brashear, Shannon Reynolds Brown and Barbara Hall; brothers, William Reynolds, Robert Reynolds, Ken Reynolds and Kyle Reynolds; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A family directed Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 at 6:30pm at The Bridge Pentecostal Church  5801 Ave S  Galveston, Texas 77550. Arrangements are under the care of the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.

  1. R.I.P howie. He saved my life at a time I needed it the most. He was the the first one to take me to AA meeting and help me on the right path. He’s a great man and great friend. Rest easy.

You will be miss dearly you were a good man and i was so proud of u with all the accomplishments captain,fisherman, driver,you had a commercial license a handgun license, you work on the water Horizon you’re also in organization the Bucca .You had a big heart Gone but never forgotten
