Bobbie Doris King Bounds

Bobbie Bounds, a long-time resident of Dickinson, TX, passed to the glory of God on 29 September 2017 at BayWind Village in League City, TX.

Bobbie was born on 6 February 1927 in Iago, TX to Arthur King and Estel Rogers.  She married Jim Bounds of Brooklyn, MS in 1955.  Her siblings were Kenneth King and Effie Nell King Grimes.  All have preceded her to glory.

She graduated from Boling High School in Boling, TX in 1945 and Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, TX in 1954.

 

Bobbie loved her first graders.  She spent the majority of her career teaching at Kenneth E. Little Elementary school in Bacliff, TX where she retired in 1998. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Dickinson.

She is survived by her two sons, Steven Bounds, Sr.  and wife Cindy, of League City, TX, and Brian Bounds and wife Diane, of Friendswood TX, and a step-daughter, Cindy Bounds Pinedo and husband Phillip, of Brea, CA.

Bobbie had six grandchildren; Misty Bounds, Steven Bounds, Jr., Sierra Bounds, Brady Tuttoilmondo, Jonathan Bounds and Audrey Bounds.  She has ten great-grandchildren.

She also had a great love for her niece and nephews.  She will be missed and loved by all.

Bobbie’s service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, 6 October at Dickinson First United Methodist Church.  The family appreciates the loving staff at Baywind Village in League City, TX.

  1. Bobbie had a fun-loving spirit and a warmth and friendliness that spread to all around her.
    She helped me “learn the ropes” when I was a new teacher. She was a good friend to me. I will miss her.
    How many students who benefited through the years from that warmth and caring must have fond memories of their first grade with Mrs. Bounds!
    My love and prayers go out to the family. It is a hard, sad time to get through.
