Billy Don Selman, Sr.

Billy Don Selman, Sr., (82) of Hemphill, Texas passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023.  He was born on December 29, 1940 to James Leonard and Eunice Karen Knox-Selman in Douglas, Texas.

Billy was a resident of Hemphill for 13 years, formerly from La Marque. He worked as a Machinist with A & A Machine and Fabrication, LLC for 35 years; he was a member of Church of Christ in San Augustine. Billy was a graduate of the La Marque Tigers Class of 59, where he played sports and AAA Pro Baseball.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Billy Don Selman, Jr., and his two sisters, Maurice Havard and husband Don and Leonardean Tomlin.  Billy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia O’Meara Selman, daughters; Karen Selman-Schultz and Andrea “Andy” Bozeman, brother James N. “Nub” Selman and wife Laura, grandchildren; Stephen Schultz, Billy Don Selman, III and Joshua Jacob Selman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Funeral Service will be Monday, March 27, 2023 at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Brother Stephen Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Daniel O’Meara, Dan O’Meara, Jr., Ronny Harper, Jamie Selman, Alan Hutchins, Patrick Hutchins and Karen Selman-Schultz.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Stephen Schultz.
