Betty Jo Whittington

Beloved mother and grandmother, Betty Jo Whittington, has joined her late husband, Hardy Lee Whittington Sr., to be with the Lord in Heaven. The youngest of ten children, Betty was born July 13, 1935, in Extension, Louisiana, and had been a resident of Texas City for the last 48 years.

Betty was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed and forever cherished by her surviving children and their spouses, Hardy Jr. and wife Mary, Gerald, Cheryl and Roger Brazzel, Mary Knight, Brian and Amy Whittington, and Tina and Americo Guerrero.

Betty proudly enjoyed playing the role of grandmother and will always hold a special place in the hearts of Amy Breithaupt, Sheila Martin, Gary Breithaupt, Brian Whittington, Jr., Courtney Mogford, Corban Whittington, Allie Whittington, Betty Hughes, Brittany Newman-Mucka, Meghan Newman, Amber Whittington, Amber and Callie Bissell, Nicole Guerrero, and Devyn Newman and as well as many great and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Americo Guerrero, Brian Whittington, Jr., Corban Whittington, Clifton Quick, James Martin, and Brian Manis.

Services will be held at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, May 1, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held the following day, Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., also at Crowder Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
