Anita Josephine (Pavlica) Boddy
On Saturday, July 12, 2025, Anita Josephine (Pavlica) Boddy of Houston, Texas, passed away at her home at the age of 97 years. She was born in 1927 near Flatonia, Texas, to Frank and Gertrude Pavlica, the second of eight children.
Anita met her future husband, Paris Edward Boddy in Austin, Texas, and on May 1, 1953, she was married to him at St. Mary Cathedral. She would be blessed with two sons, Carl and Darwin, and a daughter, Janice. She would eventually become a grandmother and great grandmother welcoming eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren into the family.
Being a lifelong devout Catholic, she was troubled by the changes coming out of the Vatican Council II. This began a long journey searching for conservative priests and parishes. Her devotion to our Blessed Mother and her Rosary served to support her during this time, and after seven years, she found the Tridentine Latin Mass being offered by a Dominican priest. After a period of time and making the acquaintance of like-minded Catholics, Anita, Edward, and their children became one of the founding families of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickinson, Texas.
Anita is survived by her son, Carl (Jacqueline), and daughter, Janice, seven grandchildren; Gregory (Elizabeth), Stephanie (Joshua), Stephen (Hanna), Louis, Joseph, Paul, Mary (Robert), 20 great grandchildren, three sisters; Alfreda, Teresa, Judy (Jack), and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Edward, her son, Darwin, her grandson, Michael Jerome, three sisters; Loretta, Ursula, Mary Monica, one brother Raphael, and one nephew.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas followed by a rosary at 7:00pm. The Requiem Mass for Anita will be on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 9:00am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Dickinson, Texas. Interment will follow at 2:30pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia, Texas.
