Kirk Carrold Anderson

Kirk Carrold Anderson was born September 20, 1960 in Brenham, Texas and passed away June 16, 2021. He was raised in Houston, Texas where he developed a passion for jazz from his musical parents. He attended HSPVA in the instrumental music department and was a natural-born drummer. He joined his parents’ band at the age of 13 and performed regularly with the Andy Anderson Trio at the Savoy Room in the Houston Oaks Hotel. Later, he continued his musical life with many bands including The Martha White Band. Kirk loved a good jam session!

Kirk had a generous and giving heart. He was loved by many. His door was always open to any friend in need, but his dog was his best friend. He loved taking his pet companions to the bay for morning coffee and sunrise.

Kirk had an amazing memory and could remember every detail to every story. He was known as “Moose” to his family, but his Granddaddy called him “Farmer Brown”.

Kirk’s daughter, Brittany, was the love of his life. They enjoyed their time together by eating Mexican food and listening to music. They also spent many weekends at Aunt Appie’s house where she played with her cousins.

Kirk is preceded in death by his father, Andy Anderson. He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Yerian, son-in-law, Nathan, and grandson, Elijah; mother, Connie Sones Anderson; siblings: April Guseman and her husband, Scott, Lynlee D’Apice and her husband, Angelo; nephews: Adrian and Taylor Guseman; Daniel and Andrew D’Apice; and cousins: Kelly Anderson Baker and Sean Anderson.

A viewing for Kirk will be held at the Crowder Funeral Home in League City (1645 E Main St, League City, TX 77573) on Tuesday, June 22, at 12:00pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm. His burial will proceed after the funeral service to Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston (2506 65th St, Galveston, TX 77551).

Pallbearers include: Scott, Adrian, and Taylor Guseman; Rob and Michael Baker; Sean Anderson.

The family would like to thank the staff at Friendship Haven for their compassion and amazing care. He felt at home there.
