Jeanne Marie Anderson Stewart

Our beloved matriarch, Jeanne Marie Anderson Stewart passed away December 27 at 11:40 pm; she was at home surrounded by her family. Jeanne had fought a valiant battle with a brutal lung disease for over four years. She is now resting in peace leaving behind thirty-eight people in her immediate family. Jeanne was raised by her hard-working parents, Ira and Laurel Anderson, along with her fun-loving brother, Gary Anderson and her sweet sister, Kathy Parish. They grew up at Four Corners near Highlands, Texas. Jeanne graduated from Deer Park High School in 1955 where she was the drum major of the band and was voted “most beautiful.” She married her “boyfriend” Leonard in 1956 and they had four children together in the next eight years. She sewed clothes, upholstered furniture, cooked all our meals, and raised four rowdy kids with the help of her husband. There wasn’t much Jeanne couldn’t do if she set her mind to it. She put her higher education on hold to raise her family and years later when she was forty-eight, she graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Restaurant Management in 1985. Jeanne was always the life of the party and whenever she walked into a room, a light shined brightly in her smile.  Jeanne loved her family more than anything and it grew to almost forty in sixty-three years of marriage to Leonard. Her taste in fashion was vibrant and hip, her decorating skills were beautiful, and her parties were second-to-none. She loved themed parties-just this last Christmas she requested a Christmas pajama party and the entire crew showed up in their best nighttime attire. Jeanne leaves behind her sister Kathy Parish; husband Leonard Stewart, daughters Terri Stewart Haas (husband Fred Haas) Rosalyn Johnson (husband Al Johnson); sons Danny Stewart (wife Cristie Stewart) and Lance Stewart (wife Brenda Stewart); and thirty additional loved ones. Friends and family are invited to join The Stewart family to celebrate Jeanne’s life during the following: Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2nd, at 7 pm and rosary to follow at 7:30pm at the Crowder Funeral home 1645 East Main St. in League City. The funeral will be Friday, January 3 at 11 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in League City. The gravesite service will be held at 2:30 at Grand View Memorial Park 8501 Spencer Highway Pasadena, Texas.

  8. We will miss u Jeanne. You were so much fun and cherished by Leonard and your family. Always a smile on your face and u were so talented. Sorry we hadn’t seen one another in a long time because of DD’s poor health and the unfortunate circumstances that I didn’t drive on that freeway. U were able to conquer your fear and I was impressed Much love. Fran and DD

  13. Terri, Danny, Lance and Ros. I have such fond memories of your mom. Her beautiful smile, bubbly personality and infectious laugh were always something that I looked forward to when visiting your home. Including me in family events (trip to New Braunfels) and hosting all of our friends when we were in high school was such a treat.

I know you will miss her. Hang onto the precious memories.
