Pauline was extremely close to her huge Italian & Czech family and celebrating all the holidays and birthdays with each other every year was a cherished tradition. She and her sisters made an enormous effort to make every holiday special with food, gifts, dancing and games that created a lifetime of memories for everyone. Pauline, Patty and Bina were the life of the party and were all called MEMAW. They taught the younger generations what family, friendship, fellowship and community was all about, “being there for each other”.

Pauline’s Catholic faith and spirituality were an integral part of her life from the very beginning.  She was honored to share her birthday each year with Jesus.  She was an active member at St. Phillip Neri and St. Hyacinth Catholic Churches. She volunteered for the church bazaars, assisted teaching elementary school, was a Brownie & Girl Scout leader, and did work for the missions overseas by sewing garments for the sick children and crocheting many rosaries. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 45 years. She prayed daily scriptures and a daily rosary, lifting up her many relatives and friends in prayer. Pauline was very devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and took MARIE as her middle name. Along with Erwin, donations were made to many Catholic Charities, the Food Bank, the American Red Cross, and to mission children.

Pauline was full of energy and loved to sew, read, swim, walk, exercise at the gym and roller skate. She would sing and dance around the house as she made dinner and did chores. She lived life to the fullest, never met a stranger and loved to TALK.  She embraced travelling and meeting people from around the world. In her youth she visited Washington D.C. and Ohio, then later in life traveled to France, Monte Carlo, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy for the marriage of Pam & Mike Cole in the Vatican.  She also ventured out on several cruises enjoying the food, dancing, gambling and destinations in the Caribbean Sea. She took many trips to Las Vegas and to the nearby Louisiana casinos. Pauline loved photography and scrapbooking, documenting everything and enjoyed sharing memories with others.

Pauline’s legacy of faith, devotion, love, laughter, generosity and spreading joy to those around her through her infectious sense of humor will be greatly missed by all that had the privilege to have known her.  The time has come for her to be warmly welcomed into the arms of all her loved ones who preceded her in death. Her favorite goodbye saying was: “See you later alligator; not for a while crocodile”
