Anna had countless cherished memories with her large, loving family. She grew up surrounded by laughter, love, and gatherings that often involved 50 or more people at a simple gathering- so many blessings. As the youngest grandchild on both sides and the only one born on Galveston Island, she was our special “BOI” – our Island Girl.
From an early age, Anna lit up every room. She was incredibly intelligent, witty, and determined. Whether performing with Bay Area Panthers Cheer and Dance, competing in cross country, volleyball, or basketball, or winning at Trivial Pursuit and water volleyball with family, she always brought energy and joy. Shw always wanted to win and did not take loosing well to the point we let her win many times just to see her that sweet smile, because if she lost there would be so many more rounds until she won.
Academically, she excelled—taking Pre-AP, AP, and Debate classes, always pushing herself to be better. She could charm anyone with her persuasive nature—like her second-grade persuasive essay explaining why she too should get an iPhone. Whether it was her charm, wit, or just her undeniable cuteness, she usually got her way.
She had a fierce love for music and fashion, always ahead of trends with impeccable taste. Makeup had to be perfect, and if it wasn’t—we weren’t leaving yet! From arguing over outfits at age three to styling herself with pink-detailed cowgirl boots at a wedding, Anna always knew what she liked and how to make it work. I loved my time at the beach with her, letting her pick her favorite songs, dancing around, and just being so beautiful inside and out. I will miss so much about her, but our times at the beach I will crave for again daily.
She was a natural leader and a deeply compassionate soul. At just 17, Anna began college at San Jacinto Junior College, later transferring to University of Houston–Clear Lake, where she lived on campus. She thrived in the hospitality industry, where she shone as a manager and server. We loved visiting her at work—watching her in action filled us with pride.
She was so beautiful even while she was being sustained to give her gift her Sweet Cousin David Allen Solis, Jr. said, “she looks like a Punk Sleeping Beauty”. That really sums it up she was beautiful inside and out and just really was a one of a kind- truly amazing.
Anna dreamed of becoming an attorney—and there is no doubt she would’ve been an incredible one. Her mind was sharp, her arguments passionate, and her heart always in the right place.
One of her final acts of love was becoming an organ donor—a true testament to her giving spirit. Even in passing, Anna continues to help others and will live on through the lives of of four other lives she is able to contribute to being saved with God’s Blessing.
She loved her nephews deeply, always showering them with gifts and affection. Anna, you are now their guardian angel, and I promise your tradition of spoiling them will continue in your name.
We miss you, our sweet Anna Banana, Anita Bonita, Auntie Annie.
We know you’re dancing in heaven, surrounded by those who greeted you with open arms.
We LOVE YOU always and forever. You will never be forgotten.
Forever in our hearts.
