Bertha “Betty” Alicia Hernandez, 63, of Alvin, TX, passed away on September 16, 2026. She was born on June 30, 1963, in Mexico to Bertha and Luis Gomez. Betty was a resident in Alvin since 2008, previously of California.

Bertha, lovingly known by many as Betty, Bon Bon, Mama Betty, Chacha, and Tia Betty, was a strong, hardworking woman who never liked sitting still.  She showed her love through cooking, whether she was preparing a meal for her family, her friends, or anyone who needed care and comfort.  Feeding others was her special way of bringing people together and letting them know they were loved.

Betty could be serious, but when you least expected it, her wonderful sense of humor would come out and make everyone laugh.  She will always be remembered for her generous heart, strong work ethic, delicious cooking, and the many ways she cared for those around her.  Her love will live on through her family, the memories they shared, and every meal prepared with love in her honor.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Luis Gomez.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise Romero, Kelly Romero, and Bibete Villanueva (Efrain); sons, Jose Aaron Romero (Linda), Christian Romero (Annabelle), and Keven Romero (Lisa); sisters, Rosa Emma Gomez, and Claudia Ivon Diaz; brother, Miguel Gomez; Betty is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Betty’s life, Monday, September 21st, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. with a visitation following the service till 5:00 P.M. at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway Street, Pearland Tx. 77581 with Father Luis Garcia to officiate the service.

 

Bertha “Betty” Alicia Hernandez, de 63 años, de Alvin, Texas, falleció el 16 de septiembre de 2026. Nació el 30 de junio de 1963 en México, hija de Bertha y Luis Gomez. Betty residía en Alvin desde 2008, anteriormente había vivido en California.

Bertha, conocida con mucho cariño como Betty, Bon Bon, Mama Betty y Chacha, fue una mujer fuerte y trabajadora a quien nunca le gustaba estar sin hacer nada. Ella demostraba su amor por medio de la cocina, ya fuera preparando una comida para su familia, sus amigos o cualquier persona que necesitara cariño y consuelo. Alimentar a los demás era su manera especial de unir a las personas y hacerles saber cuánto las quería.

Betty podía ser una mujer seria, pero cuando menos se esperaba, mostraba su maravilloso sentido del humor y hacía reír a todos. Siempre será recordada por su corazón generoso, su dedicación al trabajo, su deliciosa comida y las muchas maneras en las que cuidaba a quienes la rodeaban. Su amor seguirá viviendo a través de su familia, de los recuerdos que compartieron y de cada comida que se prepare con amor en su honor.

Betty fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres, Bertha y Luis Gomez.

Le sobreviven sus hijas, Denise Romero, Kelly Romero y Bibete Villanueva (Efrain); sus hijos, Jose Aaron Romero (Linda), Christian Romero (Annabelle) y Keven Romero (Lisa); sus hermanas, Rosa Emma Gomez y Claudia Ivon Diaz; y su hermano, Miguel Gomez. Betty también deja a sus 15 nietos y numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas.

Se llevará a cabo un servicio conmemorativo en honor a la vida de Betty el lunes 21 de septiembre de 2026 a la 1:00 p.m., seguido de una visita familiar hasta las 5:00 p.m., en Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway Street, Pearland, TX 77581. El Padre Luis Garcia oficiará el servicio.
