Vera June Aurich
A Celebration of Life
November 28, 1933 – May 9, 2026
Vera June Aurich’s 92-year life journey ended May 9, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Alec Jones, her brother, Hural Jones, and her husband, Richard Aurich. Vera is survived by brother, David Jones, sister, Annette Jones, 3 children, Rick Aurich, Allen Aurich and wife Lisa, Susan Calhoun and husband Mark, 5 grandchildren (Adrian, Eva, Anna, Andrew, Lucy), 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, cousins and friends. She was known lovingly by her grands as GGMom.
Vera was born in North Alabama and graduated salutatorian of her East Limestone High School. Always up for adventure, her journey led to Washington DC. There she worked in the FBI’s fingerprint division for a number of years. It was in DC she met Richard, the love of her life.
The two of them settled in League City by way of San Diego and Houston, where they began their family and where for many years Vera utilized her administrative skills working for Sears. She loved birds and reading and RVing but there is no doubt that her greatest love and legacy was her family. She loved them fiercely and was very proud of each and every one. As advocate and friend, she ‘showed up’ for those who were in her basket. All who love her will miss her deeply.
Visitation will be at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 E. Main St, League City, TX on Wednesday May 13, 2026 at 6 PM followed by A Celebration of Life at 7 PM. Graveside service will be Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, TX at 11 AM with the Rev. Dr. Annette Jones officiating both services.
