Elizabeth Vera Tibaldo
Elizabeth Vera Tibaldo, 93, a resident of McKinney, Texas, passed from this life on February 13, 2026. The second of eight children, she was born on December 20, 1932, in Galveston, Texas, to Edward Jacob Meyers and Elizabeth Svoboda Meyers. After graduating from La Marque High School (“Football Queen” of the Class of 1950), she met her husband of twenty-seven years, Kenneth Glenn, whom she married in December 1953. They eventually made their home in La Marque, where Vera was a full-time mother to their four children.
After Kenneth’s death in 1980, Vera returned to the classroom, earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. She then served as a teacher in La Marque ISD for fifteen years. Following her retirement, she married John Tibaldo of Santa Fe, Texas, enjoying eight years together before his death in 2000. Vera moved to McKinney in 2014, where she became a member of First Baptist Church McKinney, having previously attended Highlands Baptist Church in La Marque.
Vera’s life was full; she loved God and her family, whom she bragged about at every opportunity. She also loved to travel. One of her favorite trips was a river cruise on the Danube, especially the chance to explore her Czech roots. Alaska and Italy were also trips she treasured. She was an avid reader throughout her life, even though all efforts to convert her to electronic formats were unsuccessful.
Vera loved games and was ready to play at any time. Bingo and dominoes were favorites, but she also enjoyed a fun day at the casino slots whenever the opportunity arose. She was a diehard Aggies and Astros fan and routinely halted all other activities in order to watch and cheer.
Vera is survived by her sister, Dorothy Johnson, and her four children: daughter Terry Brown and husband Jim; sons Mike Glenn and wife Jerri, Kelly Glenn and wife Ellen, and Paul Glenn and his wife Sharon. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters and two brothers; and her loving husbands, Kenneth Glenn and John Tibaldo.
Vera will be celebrated by her family at her graveside in the coming weeks, and they sincerely appreciate your prayers and encouragement. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Medical City McKinney for their compassionate and competent care for Vera and for the family during her final days, as well as the friends and family who have loved them all so well.
