He later moved to the United States in 1975, where he attended Southwestern Oklahoma StateUniversity and graduated with a B.S. in Math and Physics, earning a Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities. In 1979, he began working at NASA in Houston, TX and eventually met his wife, Kim-Quyen Phan, and together, they started their family-owned tax office, VN Services Agency. Outside of his profession, Thomas was a devoted father and husband who loved providing for his family. He made sure they were always happy, healthy, well-fed, and loved. He was proud of all his children and celebrated their successes as often as he could, big or small. He loved his dog, Theo, who filled his days playing fetch, keeping him company with housework, and of course, begging for more treats any chance he got. Some of his interests included cruising with his family and friends, swimming at the beach, trying new recipes, and taking on multiple home projects. Thomas loved the life he built in Friendswood, and with a big heart and generous soul, he never hesitated to share all that he had with his family.
Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Dương Kim Chu, on May 17, 2025.
