In Loving Memory of Joel D. Wingfield

Joel D. Wingfield, age 91, passed away on December 6, 2025. Born in New Braunfels, Texas, Joel spent most of his life in Houston, where he built a career as an executive sales manager at various car dealerships. Known for his charisma and genuine love for people, Joel never met a stranger. His ability to connect with others was one of his greatest gifts.

Joel’s heart belonged to his family, especially his grandchildren. He took immense pride in teaching them how to drive, turning those lessons into cherished memories filled with laughter and love. His life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and the joy of simple moments.

Joel was preceded in death by his parents, Richard P. and Willie Mae Wingfield, and his son, Joel. He is survived by his devoted wife, Shirlynn; daughters Melanie Wingfield, Hollie McCall, and Melissa Allega (David); son William Griffin (Colleen); eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on in each of them.

A memorial service will be held on December 17 at 2:00 PM at Crowder Funeral Home in Webster, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who brought warmth and joy to all who knew him.
