Marjorie Sue Lenes
Marjorie Sue Lenes, 89, resident of League City, Texas, passed away on November 20, 2025. She was born on November 16, 1936 in Goose Creek, Texas to parents, Clyde Curtis “Red” Baird and Esther Geneve Lowe Baird.
Before retiring, Marjorie worked as the City Secretary for La Porte, Texas.
She was active in several organizations, the Military Wives Club Auxiliary, SAR group, Daughters of the American Revolutionaries (George Washington Chapter) and the Auxiliary of the Sons of the Union Army.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; step-daughter, Kellie Lenes Powers and brother, Kenneth O’Brien Baird. She leaves behind to treasure her memory, her loving husband of fifty-four years, John Peder “Pete” Lenes, Lt. Col. Ret.TXAANT; daughters, Alice Marie Minor Carter Watkins and Jennifer Lynn Minor Juel (Chris); son, Russell Wayne Minor, Jr. (Amanda); step-son, Jeffrey Scott Lenes, eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In her honor, there will be a memorial service on December 13, 2025 at 6:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas.

Sue will be dearly missed by our Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
We know she is with our Lord and Savior and will be raining down blessings on all of her family.

We were deeply saddened to hear about Sue’s passing. She was such a remarkable woman, and we will always remember her kindness and the warm hospitality she showed during our visits—most recently in April 2025. We always felt truly welcome in her and Pete’s home. Sue was a generous and caring person.

I am so sad to read the message from Pete about your recent passing. I am deeply thankful for your kindness and the wonderful hospitality you showed to my family. You were so full of energy and made everything so special. The way you and your lovely husband Pete organized their stay was incredible—you thought of everything. You gave them so many beautiful memories, and they are truly grateful.
