Lt. Eric Wayne Cox

Eric Wayne Cox, 51, passed away on December 1st, 2025, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. He was born on September 5, 1974, in Texas City, Texas, to Cheryl Lynette Ravey and Terry Wayne Cox.

He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Leonard and Veda Ravey, and John and Doris Cox, and his Uncles, Kim Ravey and Kenneth Cox.

He is survived by his wife of eight years, Brenda Marie Cox, and his three children, Tristan Cox, Wyatt Cox, and Nina Cox; his mother, Cheryl Young, and husband Duane; and his father, Terry Cox, and wife Delia.

Eric was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he served as a Hospital Corpsman (Field Medical Service Technician) and was a Lieutenant at the League City Police Department until his passing. He was also a member and Past Master of League City Masonic Lodge #1053 and was a member of Dickinson First United Methodist Church.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Grace Church, 14505 Gulf Fwy, Houston, TX 77034. The service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Brian Brooks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the League City Police Officers Association.

  1. I consider myself blessed to have worked with Eric, he was a cops cop, and a good man. He could always break the tension of a situation with some hilarious sarcasm. I know he is managing the K-9 corps in heaven. He will be missed, prayers for his family 🙏

  5. I just learned about this and met and grew to respect him and consider him a friend in the 2000’s. I also knew his mom Cheryl and Duane and Tristan. He definitely could cut the tension with hilarious sarcasm and his hearty laugh. Rest easy you Jolly Roger, (my military – NAVY brother) from an Army sister, I always loved our joshing around about our military branches! I will honor you tomorrow before ARMY v. NAVY game! We got the watch! You will be missed! Condolences to your entire family FIRE, NAVY, POLICE but most of all your wife, kids, mom, Duane and dad! Thank you for your service!

  6. Condolences to his family, friends, and co-workers. Eric Cox did well as a police officer and LT; he worked security while I was working at the credit union and helped keep a safe environment, I remember his police dog Officer Paco. I remember his professionalism, and kindness, work in the community, friendship, and humor. A role model, thank you for your service and dedication to military and policing! He had keen awareness and was very attentive. God bless.
