Valsamma Koshy

October 16, 1960 – November 30, 2025

With profound sadness, yet with deep gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life of Valsamma Koshy, a devoted wife, beloved mother, loving sister, faithful friend, and deeply committed follower of Jesus Christ, whose compassion and unwavering strength left an undeniable impact on every life she touched.

Valsamma, born in Korba, India, was the eldest of five siblings, a role she carried with grace, responsibility, and deep love. In 1986, she married Samuel Koshy, and together they built a life rooted in faith and family. They settled in Nagpur, where she poured her heart into creating a warm, loving home and embraced her calling as a wife and devoted mother to their three children, Johnson, Stephen, and Joshua. During her years in Nagpur, she served in various children’s ministries and helped organize monthly VBS classes for local children.

In 2005, she moved with her family to Houston, Texas, where she continued to live out her purpose with humility and dedication.

A woman of steadfast faith, Valsamma loved her Lord and Savior above all else. Her life was a living testimony of God’s love. She was compassionate in spirit, generous in heart, and unwavering in her commitment to serving others. Whether through a quiet act of kindness or a timely word of wisdom, she uplifted countless lives.

Teaching was not simply her profession; it was her calling. She devoted herself to her students, nurturing not only their minds but also their hearts. She taught them to succeed, but more importantly, she taught them about the love of Jesus. Her influence shaped many, leaving a legacy that extends far beyond the classroom.

She bravely battled cancer with steadfast faith and courage, refusing to allow the illness to define her life or legacy. She remained determined to fulfill her God-given purpose of touching the lives of others, both in sickness and in health, with quiet strength, unshakable faith, and remarkable grace.

At the age of 65, Valsamma peacefully entered her eternal rest, a rest well-earned after a life lived with purpose, love, and devotion. Though our hearts ache at her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus, whom she loved wholeheartedly.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Koshy; their children Johnson, Stephen, and Joshua Koshy; her brothers Jose (and his wife Susan Eapen), Jais (and his wife Lydia Eapen) and Andrews (and his wife Alice Koshy); and her sisters Vilsy (and her husband Mathew Sakaria) and Jessy (and her husband Benny Varghese).

She is also cherished by her nieces and nephews: Joseph (and his wife Katie Eapen), Sarah Eapen, Ancy (and her husband Moses Skariah) and their children Malachi and Zion, Ashly Mathew, Caleb Eapen, Bethany Eapen, Joel Varghese, Johan Varghese, Daniel Koshy and Esther Koshy.

In Valsamma’s remembrance, there will be a funeral service to begin at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at IPC Hebron Church, 4660 S Sam Houston Pkwy E Houston, TX 77048. A burial will follow at Houston Memorial Garden, Pearland, TX at 2:30 P.M.
