August E. LaFoy

August E. LaFoy, 76, of Texas City, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving and caring family.  He was born December 10, 1948, in Texas City, Texas, to Billy Jack and Leona LaFoy.

August lived his whole life in Texas City. He graduated from Texas City High School in 1967 and was a member of the Stringaree Band.  August served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War era. He was an Instrument Technician at Union Carbide from which he retired.   August enjoyed country and western music, dancing, taking cruises, going to game rooms, classic cars, car shows and spending time with his grandchildren.

August was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter Christine Grace LaFoy; son August Harvey LaFoy and wife Jennifer; two grandchildren: Wyatt August LaFoy and Cassidy Jo LaFoy; and his girlfriend Cathy Pope.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 9:00am to 11:00am, with a service to follow at 11:00am at the James Crowder Funeral Home Chapel in La Marque, TX.

Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, Hitchcock, Texas.

  3. So sorry, for your loss! I worked many years with Augie! I hired in in 1979! We spent many hours together, on and off the job. He was a great man! Sorry, that we were unable to attend the visitation. May God help you make it through these rough time! The world has lost a great man, but heaven has another angel! RIP Augie Lafoy!
