Gayle Patricia Maleche, 85, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on 22 November 2025.

Gayle was born on 11 February 1940, to Voyle and Genevieve Moran in Biloxi, Mississippi.  In 1963 while working in her family seafood business, she met and eloped with Second Lieutenant Vincent S. Maleche.  Their 62 year marriage involved countless accompanied and unaccompanied relocations in support of his United States Air Force career as well as sensational worldwide adventures in retirement.

Gayle absolutely loved to cruise with Vince.  In their sixty-plus cruises, she sailed on every ocean, numerous rivers, canals, and passages, enabling her to visit exotic places on six continents and islands in-between. While waiting for her next adventure she loved to spend time with her husband, visit with family and friends, play games on her iPad, watch television, and spoil her sweet cat Shou Mow.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Voyle and Genevieve Moran, brothers Ronald and Doyle Moran, in-laws Dominic and Margaret Maleche, as well as other incredible family members and friends too numerous to mention.

She is survived by her children: Doyle Maleche and his wife Carol, Darla Maleche, Valerie Russell and her husband Bill, and David Maleche and his wife Laura; her five grandchildren: Kenneth, Benjamin, James, Margaret and Catherine; and four great grandchildren Aidan, Alexander, Achilles, and Kennedy.

Gayle requested a quiet family service at the Houston National Cemetery as she waits for Vince to resume their everlasting adventures.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gayle’s memory to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a not-for-profit, section 501(C)(3) charity organization.
