David “Dave” Velasco, Jr.
In Loving Memory of David “Dave” Velasco, Jr.
August 20, 1937 – October 6, 2025
A Life Well-Lived.
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of David “Dave” Velasco, Jr., who peacefully passed away surrounded by family on October 6, 2025, in Clear Lake, Texas, at the age of 88. Born on August 20, 1937, in Manila, Philippines, Dave lived a life marked by humility, kindness, and devotion to his family and principles.
He was a beloved husband to Angelina “Lina” Velasco, and a devoted father to David “Thirdie” Velasco, Jing Velasco-Enriquez, Linda Grace “Ehye” Velasco-Trimañez, Dexter Victor Velasco, Lida Velasco-Alonso, and Dean Jesse “Chuck” Velasco.
Dave was also a cherished father-in-law to Penny Barreras-Velasco, Paul Enriquez, Monet Trimañez, Lorna Loria-Velasco, Nazarene Cabatu-Velasco, and Ronnie Alonso. He is a proud grandfather to Peegee (and wife Stephanie), Chippy (and wife Kim), Kenjie (and partner Alissa), Akiko, Davey, Mikeey, Dana, Nicole, China, Nathan, and Jaedon — each of whom brought joy and laughter to his heart. Adding to his pride and joy are his eight great-grandchildren: Zara, Evie, Deacon, Gavin, Zoey, Xander, Benjie, and Oliver.
Throughout his professional journey in pharmaceutical sales with United Laboratories in the Philippines and later as a pharmacy technician with UTMB after immigrating to the USA, Dave was admired for his dedication, integrity, and gentle nature. Outside of work, he enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — watching FPJ movies and Coco Martin’s TV series “Ang Probinsyano” and “Batang Quiapo” — and sharing stories that reflected his perseverance, wisdom, and warmth. Dave will always be remembered for his unassuming strength, his quiet generosity, and the steady love he gave his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Forever in Our Hearts
“Those we love don’t go away;
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
