Marillas Gayle Osterberg
Marillas Gayle Jackson Osterberg, age 95, went home to be with her LORD and Savior Jesus Christ on October 5, 2025. She passed peacefully in her home leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and grace that touched everyone who knew her.
Born on May 20, 1930 in Galveston, Texas, Marillas lived a long and beautiful life centered on her faith in God. She loved Jesus with all her heart and found joy in serving others through kindness, prayer, and encouragement. Her many Bibles were well-worn, her prayers unending, and her faith unwavering – even through life’s hardest seasons.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and her family was her greatest earthly joy. She was known for her compassionate nature, quick wit, insatiable desire to know others deeply, and a self-sacrificing & gentle spirit.
Marillas was a faithful member of the body of Christ throughout her life where she used her many talents in music, teaching, and counseling to minister to others in the name of Christ. Recently, she was a member of Heritage Park Baptist Church.
Marillas had a career in elementary education as a teacher and counselor in the La Marque school district and touched the lives of children for 35 years prior to retirement.
Marillas was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonwyn Pattison (Warren); sons, Douglas Osterberg (Nancy), & Randall Osterberg (Tobin); grandchildren, Brent Osterberg (Keri), Lindsay Mitchell (Alan), Tyler Yoas (Chrystal), Courtney Davis (Martin), Faith Osterberg, Jaxon Osterberg, Elizabeth Ozdogan (Umut), Warren Pattison III (Buhr Duong); great-grandchildren, Peter Osterberg, Justin Osterberg, Jane Osterberg, Abby Davis, Bryce Davis, Blakely Davis, Camden Mitchell, Kennan Mitchell, Calynn Yoas, Kiptyn Yoas, Koda Yoas, Maxwell Ozdogan, and Ella Ozdogan; as well as numerous friends.
In her honor a visitation will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00am with funeral service at 11:00am in the Heritage Park Baptist Church, Webster, Texas. Interment following at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, Hitchcock, Texas.
