Paul Elry Stelly

Paul Elry Stelly, 90, passed away peacefully at his home on August 19, 2025, in La Marque, Texas. Born on January 12, 1935, in Cow Island, Louisiana, Paul lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, faith, and work.

Paul graduated from Port Neches High School and went on to build a successful career at Amoco Oil Company, where he worked diligently for 35 years. His strong work ethic and commitment were hallmarks of his professional life.

A man of deep faith, Paul was devoted to serving at his church. His involvement in church life was a central part of who he was and reflected his generous spirit and unwavering belief in service to others. Outside of work and worship, Paul found joy in gardening—a pastime that brought him peace and satisfaction throughout the years. Paul was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.

He is survived by his daughters Laurie Bolding and Julie Thorp (Ronald); his son Robert Stelly; granddaughters Lorin Longstreet (Steven), and Randi Turrubiate; grandsons Craig Trahan (Jessica), Ian Bolding, and Jacob Bickham (Courtney); great-grandsons Aidan and Tyler Longstreet, Cayden Bolding-Ramirez, and Blaine Longstreet; great-granddaughters Mia and Emily Turrubiate, Alaina Trahan, and Malakai Bickham; great-great granddaughter Ximena Longstreet.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nettie Stelly; daughter Selina Stelly; parents Eddie and Eula Stelly; brothers Ermon Stelly and Woodrow “W.P.” Stelly and  as well as grandson-in-law Jesse Turrubiate.

Paul’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, strength, and steadfast love. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1224 Cedar Drive, La Marque, TX 77568 with Msgr James Anderson officiating.

  3. I remember always waiting on your dad to get home from work so we could play school in the back of his truck lol . And him always sitting in his favorite chair . He was always so easy going loved & lived for his family. He is at peace now with Selina & your mom . Praying for you all right now
