Gayle Weaver Gavrel

August 02, 1950 – July 30, 2025

Gayle Weaver Gavrel passed away at her home in Seabrook, Texas on July 30, 2025.  Born to Calvin and Virginia Weaver in Texarkana, AR, August 2, 1950, she relocated with family to Beaumont, Texas, where she excelled in her high school classes, graduated with honors, and continued with her professional career.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Lamar University and began teaching earth sciences in Vidor, Texas.

Gayle married Tom Gus Gavrel and relocated to Lafayette, Louisiana where she spent the first half of her career working in the oil and gas industry before relocating to Galveston, Texas as the first energy manager to install thermal storage systems in the State of Texas. Gayle later became the Director of Purchasing for GISD.  She was admired for her impressive cooking skills, love of travel with family, and sports (Astros).  Loved deeply by her family and friends, Gayle always brought her sense of humor and quick wit to everyone she knew.

Gayle is predeceased by her son, Nicholas Calvin Gavrel, father Calvin Weaver, and brother Gary Weaver.  She is survived by her husband Tom Gus Gavrel, mother, Virginia Weaver, sister Karen Harrison (Sam), niece, Tara Nava (Sergio), nephew Matt Harrison, nephew Colton Weaver (Cody), Sister-In-Law Nikki McClendon, niece Melissa ( McKernan )  and Sister-In-Law Diana Weaver along with three wonderful great-nieces and nephews and many cousins, aunts and uncles.  She loved you all.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, TX 77598.
