Brenda Joyce Zinke
Brenda Joyce Zinke, 81, of League City, Texas, passed away on August 14, 2025. Brenda was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on May 2, 1944, to Arnold O. Allbritton and Opal Elizabeth Roscoe Allbritton. Throughout her life, Brenda poured her heart into helping others care for their children, loving and cherishing each as if they were her own. In her free time, Brenda found joy in shopping, gardening, exploring home tours, and hunting for antiques. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and friends.
Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Zinke. Her parents: Arnold “Red” Allbritton and Opal Elizabeth Roscoe Allbritton. Her stepfather, David Cheek. Her brother, Donald Allbritton. Sisters, Sherry Morris, Rhonda Dameron, Debbie Santoro, and grandsons, Jonathan Hooper and Austin Howell.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Hooper and her husband, Duane Hooper, and Terri Jackson and her husband, Greg “Jax” Jackson. Her son, David Zinke. Her sisters Mary Alice Templeton and husband, Phillip Templeton, and Carolyn Bennett. Her grandchildren, Sarah Brown (Husband Matt Brown) and Landon Brady. She is also survived by her great-grandchild, Amelia Brown. And nephews: Justin Carr and Taylor Templeton.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Crowder Funeral Home Pearland from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at 2422 E Broadway St, Pearland, TX 77581. Wear your colorful and comfortable clothes, and don’t be shy about adding a little sparkle. We want to celebrate her vibrant, fun-loving spirit.
The funeral service will take place on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yoakum, Texas, at 605 US Highway 77a S, Yoakum, TX 77995, with a gravesite to follow at Restland Memorial Park.
Pallbearers serving will be Landon Brady, Duane Hooper, Greg “Jax” Jackson, Phillip Templeton, Ray Brady, and Justin Carr.
Brenda spent her life caring for those around her, as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She spent ten years in League City after moving from Friendswood, Texas, where she had lived for 42 years.
